Location: Jepson Lobby
Date: Fri, April 26
Time: 6:15 PM - 7:30 PM
This research presentation examines the application of resilient leadership theories in the case of the Fiat acquisition of and merger with Chrysler from 2009 to 2018. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles brought resilience to Chrysler, recovered from the 2008 financial crisis, and re-branded itself while stabilizing market share. The research systematically identifies specific behaviors of FCA Leaders (notably, Mr. Sergio Marchionne) that operationalize the theories of Maddi and Khoshaba ("Resilience at Work") and Perkins, Hollman, Kessler, and McCarthy ("Leading at the Edge"). The team's research results in the identification of specific resilient leadership behaviors that are transferable to any organization.
